The problems with the
"More Info" pages are mostly due to layout. I have incorporated
the suggestions listed below in the eShop
"More Info" page mockup.
Analyst Photo:
The analyst's name should not be a bitmap image - it should
be text. This can be accomplished using plain HTML which will
also download more quickly.
"Downloadable PDF" graphic:
Description: A bitmap graphic stating that a document is a PDF.
This would load more quickly if it was plain HTML and not a graphic.
See an example in the
mockup.
"Windows" graphic:
Description: A bitmap image stating that a PDF document is Windows-compatible.
Remove all instances of this image. All of the downloadable items
are PDFs which are inherently cross-platform compatible.
Content Designation Icons:
Description: Bitmap image icons that specify what type of content
a document is (IdeaByte, IdeaBundle, Planning Assumption, etc.).
The placement of the icons is odd. They should be incorporated
into the area of general information about the document. See
the mockup for an example.
Text Layout:
The detail paragraphs about the document should be in a narrow
column. Narrow columns of text are easier to quickly scan. Many
sites use narrow text columns for this reason (MSNBC, Washington
Post, Dow Jones.com, are examples).
